Mick Castleton - Managing Director
Mick has been part of many ventures and owned several companies within the engineering industry. He first worked for the Blockfoil group in 1986, when he was commissioned to rebuild 2 converted Heidelberg SBD's letterpress printing machines converting them for hot foiling. After this he started Profoil Systems in 1987 and was made Technical Director of the Blockfoil group in 1990. In 1998 Mick designed the first version of MicroPOISE and In 2005 he became Technical Director of SFL. In his current role Mick is responsible for concept design and development of hot foil stamping equipment, specialist die production and security solutions. In his spare time he is a keen squash player and also enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, motorcycling, skiing and all outdoor activities.
Mark Filby - Operations Manager
Mark joined the Blockfoil Group in 1985, embarking on a range of roles within the group. He briefly joined a Management Consultancy practice for 3 years where he helped SME’s with QA and technical standards compliance. Since 1999 Mark has developed supplier, technical partner and reseller relationships, he leads SFL’s manufacturing as well as quality and health and safety administration. Mark also represents the security print manufacturing sector at Project Genesius, a partnership with London’s Metropolitan Police to combat document and ID fraud. In this spare time Mark is a family man and enjoys hiking, motorcycling and cycling.
Barry Corbett - Group Chairman
Barry spent his early years organising large parties, busking and hitching around Europe before settling down to 12 years in the City of London where he qualified as a fund manager and chartered accountant. He then started his own corporate finance business following two years working as an insolvency practitioner. In 1995 he acquired a Group of companies in the packaging industry which included Security Foiling. As the Chairman of Security Foiling, Barry is a passionate supporter of the MicroPOISE and in promoting the concept of securing documents on demand. Barry is a very keen hockey player, an appallingly bad but enthusiastic golfer and a very keen exponent of having fun!
Peter Starling - Group Finance Director
Peter is a business graduate and a qualified chartered management accountant. He joined the Blockfoil Group, Security Foiling’s then holding company, in 1998 as Group Finance Director and became an owner in 2004 when the group was acquired as a management buy-out. As a director of Security Foiling Peter is enthusiastic about the benefits of applying the primary security feature after personalisation of security documents and also about the opportunities presented by Security Foiling’s unique products. Peter enjoys living in the Suffolk countryside and goes sailing as often as he can.
Donna Hawes - Group Finance Controller
Donna trained as a Secretary after leaving school, she moved into accounts before another opportunity arose. Donna became a Mortgage Adviser for an independent financial advisory company. She began training to become a Financial Adviser but decided that financial services were not for her, and is now on her way to becoming a fully qualified Accountant. Donna joined the Blockfoil group in 2009, she now works alongside the Financial Director controlling the complete accounts function of the group, including payroll and HR. In her spare time she is fanatical about photography, she enjoys photographing wildlife, especially birds. She also enjoys birdwatching, Moto GP and long walks.
